FIBERS & YARNS

I want to know more about my tropical knitwear. What is my KRELwear piece made of?

KREL Krelwear Bamboo Yarns Yarn and Fibers
Bamboo:  Viscose-base yarn made exclusively from Bamboo plants. These yarns are extraordinarily soft and drapey. The raw material derived exclusively from the pulp of bamboo trees grown under sustainable agricultural practices.  Because the base is consistently lighter than that of pulp taken from typical trees harvested for common rayon, the production of our Bambu yarn is subject to less chemical treatment than that usually applied to the production of common rayon.
KREL Krelwear Cotton Yarns Yarn and Fibers

Cotton: Soft and supple, cotton yarns are perfect for warm weather tops and accessories. Cotton yarns are known to be strong, durable, and have excellent water absorption properties with short drying times, which makes them great for the every body.

KREL Krelwear Metallic Yarns Yarn and Fibers

Metallic Yarn: Polyester yarn mainly used with other yarns for a sparkly effect.

Viscose: Viscose, more commonly known in the U.S. as Rayon, is a man-made fiber created from cellulose chemically extracted from trees. It's a little weaker in strength than cotton, and thus is often used to make delicate, lighter clothing.

Tencel: We love tencel at KRELwear! Tencel is a man-made fibercreated and produced by Austrian company Lenzing, Tencel Lyocell is a semi-synthetic fiber with properties almost identical to cotton. It's part of the Rayon family made from renewable wood materials. It is a fully eco- fiber in every stage of creation.

Tencel is made from the pulp of Eucalyptus trees which grow on low grade land and don't require much water. They also grow very quickly which allows more Tencel production. The solvents used are organic and are continually re-used because N-Methlmorpholine-N-Oxide is 99% recovered.

Tencel production requires very little unprocessed water. Most of the surplus water used in the making of tencel is evaporated off or purified by a waste water treatment plant which is what allows the remaaing concentrated solvent to be recycled back into the process.

it is a fully eco- fiber.
