Large scale tent made from knitted tapestries with my family's country of migrations. Symbols represent Tunisia, Poland, Swedish, French, Jewish and Miami.
The structure signifies the voyage of my family. My origins come from Tunisia and Poland. As a result of being Jewish, my family fled. The father's Tunisian side went to France, my mother's Polish side as holocaust survivors were rescued and brought to Sweden.
My parents met and had our family in France and because of religious persecution moved to the United States. We came to Miami, as it reminded my father of his land in Tunisia. The symbols of the tapestries making up this nomadic home represent the my families journey.
